Get In-Depth Experience With Us

Our Co-op Program takes participants deeper than does our Summer Internship Program. Assignments typically run six or eight months, beginning spring semester or in the summer. Co-ops tackle projects that make a meaningful impact on our business.

For example, past Co-op participants have:

  • Designed mechanical and electrical tests of implantable devices
  • Analyzed and corrected testing problems
  • Managed projects and given presentations
  • Developed solutions to complex product development problems
  • Collaborated across departments (have we mentioned networking?)

Participants develop vital skills in the program, receiving feedback on quality, innovation and teamwork throughout. And best of all, they experience St. Jude Medical.

Depending on St. Jude Medical and college/university requirements, participants may be eligible to earn credits for their work.

Co-op eligibility

We hold Co-op participants to the same standards as our employees. If you are passionate about saving and improving people’s lives, driven to do high-quality work and always looking for new and better ways to do things, you are looking at the right company.

Because we design and build medical devices, engineering students have the greatest variety of opportunities. We primarily recruit students in biomedical, mechanical or electrical engineering programs, but we also need experience with software and computer engineering—as well as majors in other degree areas. Hiring managers also look for previous internship, lab or research experience.

In order to be considered for a Co-op assignment, applicants must be:

  • In process of completing a bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate degree;
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

How to apply for a Co-op assignment
